The standard six-sided die is the workhorse of custom dice, and the only real question is what goes on the faces. Replace one pip face with a logo, replace all six with icons, or print an entirely custom face set — the tooling is the same and so, broadly, is the price.

Bodies come solid, translucent, pearlised or swirled, in 16mm for board games and 19mm for anything handled a lot. Larger dice read better across a table and photograph better, which matters more than people expect on a crowdfunding page.

Faces are pad printed and then filled, so the colour sits down in the recess rather than on the surface. That is the difference between a die that still reads after a year in a bag and one where the pips have polished off.
