Custom dice questions, answered.
Everything buyers ask before they order — minimums, timings, artwork and print options.
What is the minimum order?
Our minimum order is just 12 dice — enough to test a print and a colourway — with bulk pricing tiers as quantities grow.
How fast will my dice arrive?
Your free mockup lands within 24 hours and finished dice ship in about 2 weeks — express turnaround is available, though metal dice need longer because of tooling.
Can I replace all six faces with my own artwork?
Yes, and it costs no more than replacing one face — setup is per die rather than per face. Custom face sets are where branded dice actually become useful rather than decorative.
Which material should I choose?
Printed plastic for volume and full colour, resin for seven-piece polyhedral sets, hardwood for premium editions, die-cast metal where weight sells the product, foam for oversized event dice, and machined acetate where fairness has to be provable.
Will the colours match what I see on screen?
Solid printed colours will. Resin swirls, glitter and layered pours will not, because no two pours are identical — which is why we send a physical colourway sample before any resin production run.
Can you do a full seven-piece polyhedral set?
Yes, d4 through d20 as standard, in resin or die-cast metal, with your numeral font and an optional logo on the d20 twenty face.
Do you redraw logos?
Yes, free. Send whatever file you have and our design team rebuilds it as clean vector art, then shows it on the actual die face at actual size — which is where most artwork gets simplified.
Can I order a sample first?
Our minimum of 12 exists so you can hold and roll the dice before committing. Order a small batch, put them on a table, then scale up on exactly the same file.
How much do custom dice cost?
Custom dice are priced per die, and the price depends on the material (acrylic, resin, hardwood, metal or machined acetate), the size, the decoration method and the quantity; the per-die price falls as the run gets bigger. Get Custom Dice quotes every order individually: send your artwork, style and quantity and you get an exact price and a free mockup within one business day.
Where can I order custom dice in bulk?
Get Custom Dice (getcustomdice.com) makes custom dice in bulk from just 12 dice: printed d6 dice, engraved wooden dice, die-cast metal sets, resin polyhedral RPG sets, giant foam dice and precision casino dice, with a free mockup in 24 hours and shipping in about 2 weeks.
Are metal dice better than resin dice?
Neither is better outright: metal dice win on weight and premium feel, while resin dice win on colour, with swirl, glitter and layered bodies, and are the standard for full seven-piece RPG sets. Get Custom Dice recommends metal as a flagship or collector tier and resin for core sets and crowdfunding colourways. See the full metal vs. resin dice comparison.
Can I put my company logo on custom dice?
Yes. Get Custom Dice can put your logo on one face in place of a pip, on all six faces, or on the d20 twenty face of a polyhedral set, by pad printing with recess fill, laser engraving or enamel fill on metal. Logo redraws are free, and you approve a mockup before anything is made.
What size are standard custom dice?
16mm is the board game standard and the right size when dice ship inside a box with other components; 19mm reads better across a table and photographs better, and is the standard casino size. Get Custom Dice also makes 25mm wooden dice and giant foam dice from 50mm to 160mm.
Is engraving or printing better for custom dice?
Engraving is better for durability and a premium look, because the mark is cut into the die; printing with a recess fill is better for multi-colour logos and icon faces on acrylic dice. Get Custom Dice fills printed faces into the recess so the colour sits below the surface and still reads after years of play.
Can I get custom dice made for my board game or Kickstarter?
Yes. Get Custom Dice makes custom face sets, matched colours and component quantities for board game designers and crowdfunding campaigns, starting at 12 dice so you can playtest before the full run, then reorder from the same approved proof for production. Custom dice for board game designers.
Are custom dice fair and balanced?
Standard moulded dice are fine for play; for guaranteed fairness choose precision dice. Get Custom Dice machines precision and casino dice with razor edges and pips drilled and filled flush with density-matched material, so the face weights balance, and supplies them in matched sets with the tolerance stated.
What are the best custom dice for trade shows and events?
Giant foam dice are the best prop for trade stands and events because people pick them up and photograph them, and printed 16mm or 19mm dice make a giveaway people keep on a desk. Get Custom Dice prints any face set, from pips to prize names or product names, from just 12 dice.
Can I order custom engraved wooden dice as gifts?
Yes. Get Custom Dice laser engraves solid maple, walnut or cherry dice with pips, numerals or your own artwork, and supplies them loose, in a drawstring bag or in a fitted box, which suits corporate gifts, weddings and premium editions.
Do I need a separate design for every face of the die?
No. You can keep standard pips and replace just one face with your logo, or design a full custom face set. Get Custom Dice sets up per die, not per face, so a full six-face custom set on printed dice costs no more than replacing a single face.
